Spring Update

Allison enjoyed her first birthday. She needed little direction on what to do with her cake. She dove right in! She was a little shy at first with all of her family here, but started to ham it up later on! It is hard to believe that she is 1 year old!
We know spring is upon us because we have suddenly become VERY busy! Softball has started and the Michigan weather has not cooperated with Sean's desired practice schedule. They have had to rent cage time to get in batting practice and they have been patching together indoor fielding practices at local elementary school gyms. This Wednesday it was a beautiful day sothey were able to have their first practice outside. As Katie, Allison and I drove by the fields to go to AWANA we saw that many other teams were taking advantage of the nice evening. It was really starting to feel like spring. Sean has also been getting together with the pitchers on off nights so they can throw and this gives Jess extra practice as she catches for them. She is really doing great at her new position. She loves it and is doing well.
Katie starts soccer next week, she and Sean went out to the fields yesterday after school to kick it around. She enjoyed her practice time with dad and had fun stretching her legs. She is ready to go too. She has gotten taller over the winter. I am anxious to see the rest of her team and see if she has passed anybody. Maybe some added height will be intimidating to the other teams. Being so small she got pushed around alot, but of course she always gave it right back and gained her respect.
We are also starting to think about our spring house projects (that we don't have time to do), and are planning some work days. Tomorrow is demolition day in the basement. Sean, Jack and Steve are gutting the front side of the basement to get the ball rolling on Jessica's new room. We are definitley going to have to do the project in stages as we are so busy and so are our helpers. I guess the goal at this point is to get her in there in June.
Today is the first day of Spring Break!!!! The girls and I have lots of plans, (and projects!) Of course Allison doesn't know what to do with herself when we are all home. She is beside herself and doesn't nap well. She is on such a regimented schedule at the babysitters and it gets thrown off at home. She doesn't want to miss a thing with the girls here and often struggles at nap time and that turns into cranky time. I guess it will be good practice for summer when she is going to HAVE to be back on a schedule. With the baby coming we are going to have to have a strict routine. What were we thinking?????

I see you found a swimsuit for Allison. I bet you all had fun. Maddox and Abigail are excited to come visit. I told Abigail the plan and she was disappointed that I was coming to pick them up right after I got out of class on Thursday. I think she would stay all week.

What night of the week is Jessica's honors choir and what do I need to do to get a ticket?
