Well, the girls were hoping for a snow day...didn't happen. The snow is really coming down now and if this would have started a few hours ago they would probably be home today, oh well! I am actually enjoying the snow this morning. It is very pretty, and it is December. If it were January I would probably crawl back under covers and hide. I am not a big fan of winter. I enjoy the snow during the Christmas season, but come January 2, I am done! January to April is the longest stretch of the year for me.
We continue to stay busy with work, school, church and sports, so hopefully the winter will fly by! :) As far as work goes, Sean is in the thick of the Griffins season, averaging at least two games a week. The girls are going to the game with him tomorrow to meet a Hannah Montana star. Should be packed with "tween" girls..FUN!
I am subbing 3 sometimes 4 days a week. Mostly in Jenison which is nice for the girls, they always know where to find me and I am not far away. We have decided that this is my last year of subbing, whether I have a job in the fall or not. There just isn't any money in subbing when you have to pay daycare. Hopefully a situation will present itself this year and I will have a job in the fall, but if not I am going to look for something different to do full-time. This is very frustrating and disappointing, but you can't defer student loans forever! (wouldn't that be nice!) I worked very hard to finish school and our whole family sacrificed so much for me to finish, so not having a teaching job is quite disappointing. I am clinging to Jeremiah 29:11 as my verse this year. "For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I am working to be open and accepting to whatever the Lord has planned for us, it may not be what we are expecting or hoping for.
The babies are doing well, Allison is enjoying the Christmas decorations-and destroying a few too :) I don't think she remembers Christmas last year, but she senses the big girl's excitement and loves the lights. Carson is doing better...now we are working on laying him down to go to sleep on his own. After learning what NOT to do with Jessica, we did this for Katie and Allison. Having them cry themselves to sleep for a few nights is worth having them learn how to go to sleep on their own. Carson is proving to be a little more stubborn than the girls were. He also has quite a temper and when he is mad, he lets you know! I can't listen, I have to leave the second floor and turn off the monitor until he cries himself to sleep. Hopefully it won't be too long. I guess I am better off than Kate Gosselin....she did it 8 times! It just breaks your heart....
