I am a terrible blogger!

Sorry for such a large gap in our blog! Things here are SO crazy, I often have trouble putting together intelligent thoughts!

Sean will be home tonight after a business trip to Springfield, Mass. Last year he went to Milwaukee (remember the boat incident?) Last year I was pregnant and Allison was only one. This year both of them are into everything and I am always exhausted. It will be nice to have him home tonight.

We are in the throws of softball season for Jess. Katie finished up last week. After two rain delays they were able to get enough innings in to call it a game and finish up the last game of the year, which was actually a rain make up game from earlier in the season. She had so much fun playing this year and really improved. She is looking forward to trying out for majors next year.
Jess has quite a full plate. Her Little League team finished first in the league and starts District 9 team tournaments tonight. Sean will miss the first game because his flight does not come in until after 8:30 and unless we go into major extra innings we should be done. They play again on Friday and will continue into Saturday if they win. Her travel team has a tournament this weekend in Traverse City that she will probably miss because of Little League. She is pretty bummed because the team is staying at Great Wolf Lodge. I guess if she loses both of her Little League games she can go up, but we hate to hope for a loss. She also made the Georgetown Majors All-Star team this year and they have started their practices. They start the All-Star tournament July 6.

The babies are doing well. Allison sees her speech therapist once a month throughout the summer and will be in a small group in the fall. From day to day I don't notice alot of improvement, but her therapist always notices improvement when she sees her. Allie is pretty stubborn and often it is a battle for her to cooperate when we are practicing speech. She does pretty well for Miss Cindy though and I guess that is what counts! Carson is pulling himself up and walking around the furniture. I am expecting him to take off any day now. He will be one in less than a month. It is hard to believe how fast this year is gone. I now have an eighth grader and a fifth grader! Next year at this time I will have a high schooler. If I think about it too much I get sick! Then again we will have our AARP cards when Carson is in high school!

Many have asked about my eyes and I still don't have any long term answers. I saw a retina specialist last month and he was less encouraging than my optomologist. He says my inflammation is not only in my iris, but it runs through the whole UV track that runs around the eyeball. The drops and meds I had been on were not doing anything to fix the problem, so he gave me a steroid shot into each eye. That day my face hurt pretty bad, but the next day I felt tons better. I didn't have any headaches or light sensitivity for about a month. This past week-end I started getting headaches and light sensitivity again. I saw the doctor again yesterday and he said the inflammation is the same. No improvement. He gave me two more shots, but if there is no improvement next month, we need to try something else, probably oral steroids. I am not crazy about oral steroids because of all the side effects and he wants to use them as a last resort. They have decided that there has to be an underlying condition contributing to the iritus, otherwise all of these treatments would have cured it. I have more blood tests this week and they are going to revisit some of the other tests they took before. I guess at this point I hope they find something else so we can treat that to get rid of this. I responded differently yesterday than I did to the shots the first time. Yesterday was pretty tough and I felt terrible. I feel better today, so if the shots work I guess it will be worth it.
